Quique Sanchez Flores has been presented as the new coach of Primera Division side Getafe.
Sanchez Flores takes over the reins from Cosmin Contra, who has left to join Chinese Super League outfit Guangzhou R&F.
It is the second spell in charge of Getafe for the 49-year-old Spaniard, who was at the helm during the 2004/05 season before going on to coach at Valencia, Benfica, Atletico Madrid and most recently in the Middle East.
Sanchez Flores said at his presentation on Monday: "I'm happy, it's been 10 years since I was here and I only wanted to go back to a place which made me happy, and Getafe is one of those places.
"I've only been a few hours back here and it's like I've never been away.
"The priority at this moment of my life is to be happy coaching and I can achieve that here. It's not only that, there are also objectives to fulfil."
Sanchez Flores inherits a Getafe side who are 14th in the Primera Division standings, four points above the relegation zone, after failing to win any of their last seven league matches.
He added: "We have to give things to the fans so that they come to the stadium. We need to make sure that the fans like to watch their team and return to fill the stadium."
Sanchez Flores, who was working with Real Madrid's youth teams before taking over at newly-promoted Getafe in 2004, spent two years at Valencia before in 2008 joining Benfica, with whom he won the league cup.
Following a season in Portugal, the former Spain defender moved to Atletico Madrid where he enjoyed arguably his most successful period as a manager to date.
In two seasons at the Vicente Calderon, Sanchez Flores helped Atletico lift the 2010 Europa League title, as well as winning the UEFA Super Cup and reaching the final of the Copa del Rey.
After leaving Atletico in 2011, Sanchez Flores spent three years as manager of UAE sides Al-Ahli and Al-Ain.
