Francisco Sousa has revealed that he turned down offers from other clubs in order to sign for Getafe.

The 26-year-old midfielder has completed a switch from Castilla and is delighted to have signed a four-year deal with Bernd Schuster's side.

After spending four years on loan at Valladolid, Sousa is keen to make an impact in the Spanish top flight with Getafe.

"Despite talking to Osasuna and several European sides I have chosen Getafe because they have very interesting plans," he explained.

"They also always showed a great deal of interest in me and I am especially pleased to be returning to Madrid.

"It is a club that is growing and wants to consolidate its position in the First Division and I think I can contribute a lot to this team."
