Israeli international Yossi Benayoun now looks likely to remain with Racing Santander this summer.

Racing had agreed a deal to sell the midfielder to CSKA Moscow, but the player himself could not agree personal terms.

The 25-year-old was not thought to be particularly enamoured by the prospect of moving to Russia and appears to have vetoed the transfer.

A host of English clubs were monitoring the skilful playmaker, but no concrete bid was ultimately forthcoming.

Although there is also some interest in Spain, it now seems the player will stay for a fourth season, at least, with Racing.

Also likely to remain at El Sardinero is Benayoun's international team-mate Dudu Awat.

The keeper recently signed a new long-term contract but was being pursued by both Valencia and Villarreal, however, both teams have now strengthened in that position.
