TONI SOLDEVILLA has vowed to save Espanyol coach Juande Ramos's job, with the Barcelona side suffering another defeat, 2-0 in Mallorca at the weekend.

Ramos had been given a vote of confidence by Espanyol president Daniel Sanchez Llibre before the game in Mallorca but The Parakeets fell to another defeat and even at such an early stage of the season, there is mounting pressure on the new coach.

"We are the people in charge (of Ramos's fate) and we must accept it," said Soldevilla.

He added: "It is necessary to accept that we have not been playing well and that to overcome this we must all act together.

"It's not just the players who are responsible but everybody, although we know that we are the most important part of the club.

"There are other factors of responsibility for each of us at the club.

"The situation is uncomfortable for us all and what we must do is get behind the coach.

"We must win (against Recreativo) because in this way we will be able to save his (Ramos's) head."
