Diego and Kjaer will have to stay if they don't leave by August

Diego and Simon Kjaer have been told that they will stay at Wolfsburg if they cannot sort out moves elsewhere before the start of August. Both players spent time out on loan last season, with Brazilian midfielder Diego helping Atletico Madrid win the Europa League and Danish defender Kjaer playing for Roma. Speculation has suggested they could be set to seal permanent departures from the club this summer, even though neither man's contract expires until 2014. Magath appears willing to let them leave, but only if he has time to bring in replacements. "It's obvious that players of the class of Diego and Simon Kjaer will be unavailable for transfer if it reaches August," he told Bild am Sonntag. "If they haven't worked out their transfers away from the club by then, they will be staying with us for the season."
