Carlos Salcido believes that PSV Eindhoven can nullify the threat of attacking duo Sergio Aguero and Diego Forlan when they face Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.
The Mexico international is hoping that he and his team-mates can temper the quality of Aguero and Forlan, who are considered to be one of the best striking forces in Europe.
Salcido also believes that Atletico could be a force to be reckoned with in Europe this season - despite their lack of experience in the competition.
He told AS: "Stopping those two [Aguero and Forlan] could be the key. Everyone knows how good they are, but I think our defence is strong enough to stop them.
Be at your best
"The Champions League is the most important club tournament in the world. Every team that qualifies is of a very high level. You have to be at your best in every game.
"Experience can be used in these games, but Atletico have shown this season against Schalke that they have a team that can play at this level.
"We are very difficult to beat at home, we feel very strong there. The fans are very close to the pitch and they make noise constantly throughout the game.
"The team is conscious that it will be important to do well in the first game and that you cannot afford to drop any points at home."
