Atletico Madrid's Juan Valera has undergone surgery on his dislocated shoulder and will be sidelined for two months.
The defender picked up the injury in Atletico's league game with Osasuna at the start of the month.
He subsequently missed his side's final two league games of the season and was advised he would need surgery to correct the problem.
Valera will now be hoping to be fully fit for the start of next season.
"The operation was satisfactory and the period of rehabilitation will be between six and eight weeks," he stated.
