Getafe have five in the bag

Getafe president Angel Torres claims he has five players already signed for next season.

Getafe president Angel Torres claims he already has five players in the bag for next season.

The Madrid minnows have enjoyed two impressive seasons in La Primera following their promotion in the summer of 2004 and all but secured their top-flight status last weekend with a 2-1 home win over Real Sociedad that took them to the 40-point mark.

It seems they have now turned their attentions to rebuilding for next season with a number of their top stars expected to move on.

Full back Mariano Pernia has already agreed his move to Atletico Madrid, while it seems highly likely that striker Riki will follow him out the door with a host of European sides - including Liverpool and Manchester United - having been impressed with his displays this term.

Getafe will be keen to build on another positive season and Torres insists that the club have already made big strides in the transfer market.

"At this time I already have five signings finalised," he stated. "However, this is not the time to be giving names beyond that of Manu del Moral who people already know about."

Del Moral is joining from Atletico as part of the deal that will take Pernia to the Vicente Calderon, and two other Atletico players will also be included in the transfer with Gabi - who had a very successful loan spell at Getafe last season - and another youth player the favourites to join.
