Mallorca have signed Atletico Madrid's young striker Braulio Nobrega on loan for the remainder of the season.

The Islanders completed the move just before Tuesday's transfer deadline and the 20-year-old goes straight into their first-team squad.

Mallorca boss Hector Cuper had been looking to bring in another striker after seeing Greek hit-man Lambros Choutos cut short his loan spell at the club and had been in talks with Steffen Iversen.

However, they could not agree terms with the Norwegian and opted to move instead for Braulio who had made just one substitute appearance for Atletico this term.

"I will keep playing as I always have done because if Mallorca decided to sign me they must have liked what I was doing," Braulio stated.

"Now I am just thinking about Mallorca, and am really looking forward to this new chapter in my career."

Meanwhile, Mallorca defender Fernando Nino has joined Segunda outfit Elche on a short-term contract.
