MALLORCA coach Jaime Pacheco has hit out at his side's pre-season schedule ahead of the new Primera campaign.

The former Boavista chief took charge of The Islanders at the end of July, and inherited a pre-season programme already organised by club president Mateo Alemany.

That included a training camp in England, along with a number of friendly fixtures, which Pacheco believes has impeded the fitness work he wanted to carry out with his squad.

While not directly criticising Alemany, the Portuguese coach made his feelings clear on the matter.

"I would have liked a different pre-season," he said.

"I have my opinion, but the less I say the better."

Pacheco also conceded that duo Ariel Ibagaza and Alvaro Novo were likely to complete their moves to Atletico Madrid in the near future, and admitted he had hoped that the long-running saga would have been resolved 'much sooner'.
