Sneijder admits Che desire

Wesley Sneijder has said that joining Valencia would be a dream come true for him as reports suggest that the Spanish club are in talks about a summer move for the Ajax star.

The Holland international did not hold back as he praised the standard of the Spanish league and expressed his desire to play there in the future.

Reports in the Spanish media state that the Che's sporting director, Amadeo Carboni has travelled to Amsterdam to meet with the player's agent and that a bid could be on the cards.

"Maybe, maybe. I cannot say any more than that," Sneijder told Radio Valencia Cadena-SER in response to questions on talk that he could move to Valencia.

With the rumours growing, Sneijder stated he would welcome a move to Valencia and is flattered by the interest being shown in him.

"It would be a dream to play for Valencia," he said. "It is a big club and I have read and heard everything about what is being said about me and the interest being shown.

"I am very proud about that and I know a lot about Valencia."

Having risen through the youth ranks at Ajax, Sneijder is now keen to try his hand abroad and believes that la Primera is the place to be.

"The Spanish league is, possibly, the best in the world and it would be incredible to play there," he continued.

"I may play there next season or perhaps the one after that. Everyone knows about my situation at Ajax, but now is not the time to talk about that.

"If it was to happen that I play there next season or in the future at some point it would be like a dream come true."

Sneijder also revealed that he has talked at length with Ajax's Catalan duo, Roger and Gabri, in order to learn more about the league.

"I have talked to them a lot because they know so much about the Spanish league."

Roger, meanwhile, has confirmed that he will hang up his boots at the end of the season.

The 30-year-old's contract with Ajax is due to expire at the end of the season and he said recently that he would not be looking to extend his commitment.

And he has now moved to clarify his future by revealing that he plans to retire in the summer.

Roger, who made his debut for Barcelona in 1995, has undertook a Physical Education course and is contemplating moving into that field.
