Valencia say they have started disciplinary action against David Navarro.
Substitute Navarro was at the centre of an ugly brawl during his side's UEFA Champions League clash with Internazionale at The Mestalla.
Navarro was seen throwing a punch at Nicolas Burdisso that broke the Argentine's nose - a move that sparked a melee involving players and officials from both sides.
The Valencia defender has since been charged with gross unsporting conduct by Uefa, and despite his public apology is expected to suffer a heavy financial punishment from his club for his part in the incident.
