Tavano unsure of future

Francesco Tavano aims to prove his worth at Valencia, but could return to Italy.

Francesco Tavano aims to prove his worth at Valencia, but has left the door open for a return to Italy.

The striker only joined the Che from Empoli in the summer, but injuries have hampered his prospects of making an impact.

He only made his debut for Valencia earlier this month and has been linked with a return to Serie A.

Tavano concedes going back to Italy is an option, although he is keen to be a success at the Mestalla.

"I'd like to show all my value in Valencia," Tavano told Tgcom.it.

"But should I have to come back to Italy, I wish it could be for an important club with serious aims."

Internazionale, Milan and Roma have all been mooted as suitors of Tavano, should he be allowed to leave on loan in the New Year.

Speculation in the Italian media has also claimed that Premiership trio Liverpool, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur are monitoring the situation.
