Valencia have been dealt yet another injury blow with the news that forward Mario Regueiro faces three weeks on the sidelines.
The Primera outfit are in the grip of an injury epidemic with Regueiro the eighth first-teamer now in the treatment room.
The Uruguayan picked up his problem in Wednesday's Copa del Rey clash with Portuense which Valencia won 2-0.
Regueiro was forced off after just 15 minutes after falling awkwardly on his shoulder.
Subsequent tests revealed a small crack in his right collar-bone and he now faces a minimum of three weeks out of action.
Despite their ever-expanding injury list, Valencia have decided against making further signings in the January transfer window.
One bright spot that did emerge from the match against Portuense was the debut of striker Francesco Tavano.
The Italian joined from Empoli in the summer but has struggled to adapt to life in Spain and had not previously pulled on the Valencia shirt in a competitive match.
