Internazionale technical director Marco Branca has admitted the Serie A side will consider a January move for Chievo's Victor Obinna, whilst not ruling out a summer raid for Roma star Antonio Cassano.

The Nerazzurri have fallen off the pace in the Italian top flight, and, although Branca insists that the club are happy with the squad, the official has elaborated on their upcoming transfer plans.

Young Chievo forward Obinna (pictured) has previously insisted he knows nothing of any interest from Roberto Mancini's side, although Branca admits that the Milan outfit are keeping tabs on the young Nigerian.

Whilst denying entering into any negotiations for Valencia misfit Marco Di Vaio, Branca also revealed that Internazionale could be tempted to move for Cassano if he fails to sign a new deal at Roma.

"We consider the group adequate to complete the season without being changed in January, even if it could become a necessity replacing Obafemi Martins who will leave for the African Cup of Nations," Branca told Guerin Sportivo.

"For this reason we are orientating ourselves on Chievo's Obinna.

"There aren't negotiations with Di Vaio, whilst Cassano might interest us in July if he is a free agent."

The Nerazzurri are also hot on the trail of Anderlecht starlet, and Chelsea target, Vincent Kompany, and Branca says that despite being put off by the Belgian club's asking price, Internazionale could yet move for the gifted stopper.

"Defenders? We had contacts with Anderlecht for Kompany but we didn't find an agreement, they asked a lot," Branca continued.

"Later we could reopen the speech."
