SEVILLA TRACK VALENCIA'S GARCIA

SEGUNDA LIGA side Sevilla are casting an eye over the possibility of making a move for Valencia star Gerardo García León.

The right winger, who has been with Valencia for two years, has been unsettled recently at the club, and it now appears he no longer is part of the plans of head coach Héctor Cúper.

Gerardo was not even in the squad that faced Gramanet in the Copa del Rey in midweek, as he was left out for 'technical reasons' according to the press release.

The former Villarreal player has struggled to get into the team since playing in the 1-0 defeat away to Olympiakos in the Champions league, a match in which he was heavily criticised.

Since then, Héctor Cúper has been extremely reluctant to give him a chance, and his immediate future now appears to be away from Mestalla.

The player, himself, is clearly thinking his future through at the club, who currently head La Liga.

He said: "Now, nothing will surprise me. It's normal that they drop me, although normally they will give reasons.

"Personally, I have already spoken with my agent and said that I would like to search for a loan, because a transfer right now could be something very complicated."

This could alert Sevilla, who have been interested in the player for some time, and will consider the possibility of making a move to loan the player until the end of the season.
