Zaragoza eye Espanyol star

Real Zaragoza seem to have set their sights on Espanyol defender Toni Soldevilla.

Real Zaragoza are reported to have set their sights on Espanyol defender Toni Soldevilla.

Zaragoza have begun identifying possible summer recruits and a central defender is thought to top their list.

Argentine star Gabriel Milito has been tipped to leave La Romareda in the summer with Barcelona known admirers, and Zaragoza seem to be lining up possible replacements.

Soldevilla will be out of contract at the end of the season and Zaragoza boss Victor Munoz is a fan of the powerful stopper.

The 26-year-old came through the ranks at the Catalan club and is a regular under Miguel Angel Lotina.

However, Zaragoza could well attempt to prise him away with a lucrative offer given that they will not have to pay a transfer fee.

The player himself insists he will not be taking a decision on his future until the end of the season, but if Espanyol - who currently sit fourth - do manage to secure UEFA Champions League football next term it would prove difficult to leave Estadio Olimpico.

"I am still not very clear on my future but I want to wait until the end of the season to decide," Soldevilla stated.
