Real ace ready for Champions League clash

Real Madrid ace Pepe has told skysports.com that they are up for the challenge of Tottenham. The two clubs meet in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League quarter-final clash on Tuesday. Real come into the game off the back of a shock weekend defeat to Sporting Gijon, but Pepe insists not too much can be read into that. "The defeat to Sporting Gijon was a blow for us, but that is forgotten now, and we are now focused on the match with Tottenham," he told skysports.com. "We might be favourites for the match, like we often are in Europe, but it is necessary to show this on the pitch. "Tottenham have been one of the big surprises in Europe this year and we respect them, in the quarter-finals there are no comfortable matches." Pepe is hoping he lines up against Spurs at the Santiago Bernabeu, saying: "These types of matches are special, I intend to play but that is up to Mourinho - physically I am in good condition. "Spurs are very powerful in attack and that is our challenge - to meet that." The Portuguese ace insists he would relish marking Peter Crouch if he lined up against the England star. "To come up against Crouch, I would be prepared to stop any player because that is my mission in these matches," he concluded.
