Morata attracting attention from Premier League

A host of English clubs are understood to be following Real Madrid starlet Alvaro Morata. The Spanish youth strker is widely considered one of Real's best prospects. The 18-year-old, who has been likened to former Real ace Fernando Morientes, is currently on fire for Madrid's B side Castilla with eight goals in his last six games. This included a hat-trick against Deportivo La Coruna's second team last weekend, when four English sides had scouts present to watch. Arsenal, Tottenham, Fulham and Leicester were all represented in Madrid.

Linked

Manchester United were strongly linked with Morata last month, with some reports even claiming a bid had been made, but Jose Mourinho is understood to be a confirmed fan. Morata had been put forward as possible solution to Real's striking problems when Gonzalo Higuain was ruled out through injury. But Mourinho opted for him to finish the season with Castilla, rather than promoting him to the first-team, although Morata did taste senior action earlier this term when he played in the Copa Del Rey with Levante. Sources in Spain suggest that while Real would shun all offers for Morata, they would consider allowing him to leave on loan.
