Real goalkeeper back in fold

Real Madrid goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek has been brought back into the Poland squad for their final two World Cup qualifiers. Poland can no longer make it through to next summer's tournament in South Africa after a disappointing campaign. They are currently fourth in Group 3 with 11 points from eight games and coach Leo Beenhakker was sacked after the recent 3-0 defeat to Slovenia. Former Poland international Stefan Majewski is in temporary charge of the team and has decided to recall Dudek. The former Liverpool man has made 58 appearances for his country but has been out of favour over the last three years. Celtic's Artur Boruc has been Beenhakker's goalkeeper of choice but a number of mistakes have opened the door for Dudek to challenge for the jersey.
