Juan's summer transfer to Roma is hanging in the balance following Spanish press reports.
The summer transfer of Bayer Leverkusen player Juan to Roma is hanging in the balance after Spanish press reports claim that Milan and Real Madrid have entered the race to land the defender.
The Brazilian international's contract originally tied him to Leverkusen until 2009 but an opting-out clause in his deal allows him to leave the Bay-Arena this summer for an estimated transfer fee of é¼9million.
The player has made no secret of his desire to leave the Bundesliga and continue his career elsewhere.
Roma were initial favourites to land the defender's signature but Spanish newspaper AS now claims that Serie A side Milan and Spanish giants Real Madrid are interested in Juan's services.
