Roberto Carlos is a serious doubt for Real Madrid's UEFA Champions League second leg tie against Bayern Munich after picking up an injury on Tuesday night.

The veteran Brazilian left-back was forced off after 50 minutes of Real's 3-2 win in the first leg of the last 16 clash, being replaced by Raul Bravo at the Bernabeu.

Carlos has only recently returned from a one-month spell on the sidelines due to a calf injury, and the Spanish titans now fear a similar blow could leave him absent during a key period in the season.

Real will conduct further tests when the inflammation around the muscular injury dies down, but it looks as though Los Merengues will have to do without their full-back for the trip to Munich on 7th March.

Depending on the outcome of the tests, Carlos could also miss El Gran Classico against Barcelona four days later.
