Agent: Cassano wants Real stay

The agent of Antonio Cassano insists the Italian forward wants to stay at Real Madrid.

The agent of Antonio Cassano insists the controversial Italian wants to stay at Real Madrid despite his fall-out with coach Fabio Capello.

The forward was recently suspended from first-team duties and fined by the club after openly criticising Capello for failing to pick him.

He will spend two weeks separated from his senior team-mates and, unsurprisingly, there have been reports he will depart the club when the transfer window reopens in January.

However, his agent Giuseppe Buzzo claims his charge, who has now apologised for his outburst, is more than happy to stay at the Santiago Bernabeu and fight for his first-team future.

"Cassano does not want to leave the club and wants to see out his contract at Reaal Madrid that ends in 2010," Buzzo stated.

"He wants to stay at Real and win trophies."
