Osasuna midfielder Valdo says he feels let down by Roberto Carlos after the Real Madrid man injured him with a hefty challenge then refused to apologise.

Valdo had to be withdrawn after just 18 minutes of the Liga encounter between the two sides on Sunday when Robert Carlos clattered into him.

Now the Osasuna man, a former Real trainee, has accused Roberto Carlos of laughing at him whilst he lay injured on the turf, and insists the Brazilian has forgone professional courtesy in refusing to apologise.

"I didn't understand his attitude," Valdo told Marca.

"He laughed when I told him I was injured and he told me he would do the other as well.

"My reaction was because of his attitude. I threw the ball at him to stop myself doing anything else that would have prejudiced myself or the team. I was furious.

"No one from Real has tried to contact me to apologise.

"He used to be a happy person who enjoyed playing football.

"Anyone who does a tackle that injures someone, at the very least apologises. Everyone does it. I feel he has let me down personally and professionally."

Valdo will undergo further examinations to assess whether he sustained ligament damage in the 1-1 draw.
