Zlatan claims Real bid

It is claimed that Real Madrid have failed with a bid for Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic's agent claims Real Madrid had a bid for the Swedish star rejected last week.

Juve paid Ajax just over £10 million for Ibrahimovic last summer and he has performed reasonably well - bagging 16 goals in Serie A and helping them to the league title.

Some in Italy suggested more could have been expected of Ibrahimovic and many would not have been expecting a bid from Real and certainly not one at the estimated ‚é¼70 million it is claimed the Spaniards offered last week.

"It is certain that Real Madrid have spoken with me and they are interested in him," Mino Raiola told the Goteborgs-Posten

"Juventus does not want to sell Zlatan. He is the future of the club. The Scudetto this season is just the start of a new era with Zlatan as the dominating player.

"Zlatan was happy and cheered over the title, this was a dream coming true already the first year.

"Zlatan has a contract and he respects that, but we will have to see what happens in the future."

The bid from Real has come out of the blue, as they already have a deal for Brazilian Robinho in place - although with Michael Owen's future continually in question there could yet be room for another striker.

However, the chances of Juve letting Ibrahimovic leave are limited as David Trezeguet looks set to leave Turin this summer and this was highlighted by the Old Lady's reported rebuttal of Real's huge offer.
