Deportivo La Coruna are understood to be keen on signing Real Madrid goalkeeper Cesar in the summer.

The 33-year-old custodian has not been offered a new deal by Real, and will leave the club as a free agent at the end of the season.

Given he will not command a fee, the shot-stopper has already attracted a lot of interest with clubs in England, Portugal and France all thought to be monitoring his situation.

He was linked with a transfer window move to Liverpool, but The Reds opted to sign Leeds' Scott Carson and may now choose to shelve their interest.

However, Deportivo are thought to have joined his queue of suitors, and it is not the first time they have shown an interest.

The Galician club were planning to sign him back in the summer of 2000, but lost out to Real Madrid and moved instead for Jose Molina.

Depor currently have three keepers on their books, Molina, Gustavo Munua and Dani Mallo, but look certain to move one of the three on in the summer.

As a result, the club want an experienced replacement and see Cesar as the ideal candidate.
