Casillas excited by Buffon challenge

REAL MADRID goalkeeper Iker Casillas is looking forward to coming up against Gianluigi Buffon in the Champions League semi-final with Juventus.

The Spanish international believes that himself and Buffon have enjoyed similar meteoric rises in their careers.

"Buffon and I have parallel lives," said Casillas. "We both made our debuts very young in the top division.

"He started at Parma and me at Real Madrid. I have followed his career closely and he is a good goalkeeper."

Casillas admitted that he was humbled by the reception he and his team-mates received from the Manchester United fans after their game at Old Trafford.

"It was a special party," admitted Casillas. "Old Trafford is an incredible setting and to see the recognition from the English fans towards our team was something that will never be forgotten."
