GERMAN goalkeeper Oliver Kahn has apologised to his Spanish counterpart Iker Casillas for refusing to swap shirts after Wednesday's friendly.

Furious about his side's 3-1 defeat, Kahn stormed off the pitch right after the final whistle and came under heavy criticism in the Spanish press for his behaviour, with Casillas also venting his frustration at the antics of 'Ghengis Kahn'.

"I didn't want to hurt his feelings and in order to make up for this I'd like to invite him to train with me in Munich," declared Kahn.

Ultra-competitive Kahn felt some of his team-mates were holding back because the match was a friendly.

"Even in friendlies there's much prestige at stake. We should have shown a much different spirit, but I did not have the feeling that every one of us was really keen to give his best," raged Kahn.
