Hamburg back Trochowski

Hamburg sport director Dietmar Beiersdorfer says Piotr Trochowski has a big future.

Hamburg sport director Dietmar Beiersdorfer says Piotr Trochowski has a big future at the club.

The talented midfielder has been included in Germany coach Joachim Low's squad to face Czech Republic at the weekend, despite failing to gain a regular first team berth under HSV coach Huub Stevens in recent weeks.

Beiersdorfer, however, insists he is confident Trochowski's time will come at the AOL Arena.

"Piotr was injured for quite a while and so it's quite normal for him to need some time to get back to full fitness," he told the club's official website.

"I thought he played well against Hannover and as Huub Stevens likes to use several systems, I'm sure Piotr will get plenty of games in the future.

"Piotr is an important part of our team's future. We didn't extend his current contract for nothing."
