Julien Escude has spoken of his happiness at moving from Ajax to Sevilla after playing his first match in La Liga.
The French defender was out of favour in De Eredivisie and moved to Spain for a fee of around é¼1.5 million in the January transfer window.
Escude had his first run-out for Sevilla in a 1-0 win over Celta Vigo on Saturday that saw his side consolidate fifth place in the league.
Now the 26-year-old has praised his team-mates for helping him settle into a new league, as well as indicating his belief that the setup in Spain is superior to what he experienced with Danny Blind's side.
"Technically it is similar but by the atmosphere we are superior than the Dutch," said Escude.
"All my companions have given much help to me during the match and that is very important for me.
"This team is playing very good, the defence is very strong and the attack is one of the best in Spain with players like [Fredi] Kanoute, [Javier] Saviola and Luis Fabiano."
Escude also vowed to achieve full fitness after five months of frustration in Holland as he added: "This Saturday I have played with commodity but I still want to arrive at my best physical form."
