Malaga have taken Sevilla winger Antonio Lopez on loan for the rest of the season.

The left-sided wideman has failed to feature since the arrival of Juande Ramos as Sevilla coach last summer.

He has managed just one league start this term and will be hoping the switch to Sevilla's Andalusian rivals will resurrect his career.

Malaga do not have an option to make the deal permanent when the loan ends and Lopez will subsequently return to Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan where he has one year left on his contract.

The 25-year-old becomes Malaga's third signing of the transfer window having already clinched the captures of Brazilian duo Gabriel Rodriguez and Ricardo Bovio.

Another player heading out of Sevilla is Francisco Gallardo who has joined Portuguese outfit Vitoria Guimaraes on loan for the remainder of the campaign.

Meanwhile, Malaga midfielder Gerardo Garcia is poised to sign a contract extension at La Rosaleda.

The 31-year-old has just six months left on his present deal, but will sign on for a further three years in the coming days.
