Sevilla starlet Jesus Navas will undergo psychological treatment after suffering an anxiety attack.

The gifted midfielder has a history of such attacks, especially when taking trips away from his native Seville.

Navas, who has been trailed by both Arsenal and Liverpool, refused the chance to travel to Holland for the Fifa World Youth Championships in June.

Now the precocious midfielder could miss the start of the Liga campaign due to the course of treatment.

Sevilla confirmed that he will be offered the club's full support throughout the coming season, and held out hope that the issue could be dealt with successfully.

"It is expected that the player will make a progressive return to team training over the course of the next few months, but he will be given psychological support throughout the course of the 2005-06 season," said a club statement.

"These sorts of problems occur frequently in the population at large and can, of course, also affect sportsmen," they said.

"Fortunately there are a range of therapies that can be used to ensure we resolve the problem successfully."
