Brazilian striker Luis Fabiano claims he has clinched a move to Sevilla.

The 24-year-old is currently on the books of Porto, but insists he will move to Spain in the very near future.

The former Sao Paulo star endured a difficult campaign after moving to Portugal, never demonstrating his best form, and claims he is happy to be heading to La Liga.

"I hope to bring much happiness to the fans of Sevilla, as I did to the fans of Sao Paulo," Fabiano told Rede Record.

"I have still not signed, but it is practically done.

"The season (at Porto) did not go as I hoped.

"Some of the board criticised me heavily and I did not like that.

"What's more I arrived injured and tired after playing two years without a break."

Meanwhile, Sevilla have confirmed that Brazilian defender Daniel Alves is close to gaining EU citizenship.

The full back should be granted a Spanish passport in the coming weeks which will facilitate Fabiano's introduction into the squad as a non-EU player.
