The Brazilian - known as 'The Beast' - has made a huge impact at Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan since joining from Sao Paulo at the beginning of last season.
He bagged a total of 19 goals last term, and already has 11 more to his name this time around.
His form has not gone unnoticed by several of Europe's top clubs, including Barcelona who tried to take him to Camp Nou last summer.
He is currently in talks to extend his deal with Sevilla - which runs until 2008 - but has not been able to agree terms despite a number of meetings leading to speculation of a possible move.
The player admits he is unsure of his future, but insists he is fully focused on maintaining his good form for the club.
"I am not going to speak about the future, about what could happen in three or four years' time, because I don't know either," he told Marca.
"I can not predict what is going to happen, if I am going to stay or not.
"Everything can change very quickly, one minute you are here and the next you are not.
"I have a contract and I must honour it.
"Staying in good form and improving myself is what I am thinking about.
"This is a very important point of my career - I am clear about that."
Of the impasse surrounding his contractual situation, he continued: "Everyone has their own way of working and thinking, and reaching an agreement can sometimes take time.
"If my agent and (Sevilla president, Jose Maria) Del Nido have not come to an agreement yet it must be for some reason."
