Newly-promoted Getafe have sealed the loan capture of Sevilla midfielder Francisco Gallardo.

The 24-year-old right-sided star, who was linked with Manchester United at one point last season, admitted it had been a very hard decision to quit Sevilla.

However, after speaking to Getafe boss Quique Flores Gallardo, revealed he thought that the season-long loan was in his best interests.

"I leave with a lot of pain, given that after 16 years at the club it was not something I was expecting," he stated.

"I have to say leaving is the hardest moment of my career."

Speaking of his meeting with Flores, he continued: "It took me five minutes with him to see that he really believed in me.

"I decided on Getafe because he (Flores) told me that it would be a real delight for him to work with me."

Sevilla agreed to loan the player after bringing in Valladolid star Fernando Sales to play on the right wing.

It is believed Getafe are hoping to complete a double raid on Sevilla by taking highly-rated striker Antonito on loan to Estadio Alfonso Perez as well.

Meanwhile, Sevilla have released both Marcos Vales and Uruguayan Mariano Toedtli.
