Sevilla have confirmed they are keen to turn Daniel Alves' loan stay at the club into a permanent one.
The Brazilian defender arrived at the Primera club last January from Bahia on an 18-month loan deal, and the 20-year-old has impressed during his time at El Estadio Sanchez Pizjuan.
Sevilla have until June to take up an option to complete a $1.4 million transfer, but are hoping to try and lower the price.
Alves is desperate to stay in Spain, and was hopeful his former club would lower their demands to enable him to finalise a permanent switch.
"I am very happy with my situation here and hoping everything can be resolved as soon as possible," said the full back.
"I really want to stay and I know that Sevilla will be making an effort to keep me.
"Hopefully Bahia can compromise a little because it is important for me to stay here."
