PABLO ALFARO set an unwelcome record on Saturday when becoming the player who has been sent off most times in Spanish football history.

The Sevilla defender saw red against Real Sociedad on Saturday, taking his career dismissals to 24.

Alfaro was given his marching orders in the last minute of the 1-0 defeat, following a wild tackle on Agustin Aranzabal.

The 34-year-old has played for the likes of Real Zaragoza, Barcelona, Racing Santander, Atletico Madrid and Merida, and has had a poor disciplinary record throughout his career.
