THE Spanish League Committee have handed two-match bans to defenders Javier Navarro of Sevilla and Eduardo Berizzo of Celta, while Valencia's Argentine star Pablo Aimar will face a one-match ban after his controversial dismissal at the Bernabeu.

The commission took the decision to increase Navarro's punishment by a further game after reviewing what appeared to be a stamp on Ronaldo during their recent 3-0 loss to the 'meringues'.

Berizzo was handed his ban for an aggressive confrontation with Depor's Moroccan defender Nourredine Naybet in the Galician derby last weekend.

The Argentine was initially only booked for the incident, but after studying video evidence the disciplinary panel have taken further action.

The commission also rejected the evidence brought forward by Valencia to protest Aimar's innocence in the face of his red card against Real Madrid.

They upheld the decision of official Pino Zamorano, and the Argentine playmaker will now serve a one-match suspension.
