Javier Mascherano has ended speculation over his future by signing a new long-term deal at Barcelona.
Mascherano's future at Nou Camp has been the subject of conjecture in recent weeks with the former Liverpool midfielder linked with a possible move back to the Premier League, while Napoli have also expressed an interest in his services.
However, Mascherano has committed himself to Barcelona by signing a new deal to keep him at the club until 2018, with a buyout clause of €100million (£81million).
The news is a massive boost to new Barcelona coach Luis Enrique as he looks to improve on a disappointing trophyless season last term.
Mascherano, who is currently away on international duty with Argentina preparing for the World Cup, joined Barcelona in the summer of 2010 and has made over 100 appearances for the Catalan giants.
