Charlton Athletic's new boss Jose Riga hopes the club can persuade Diego Poyet to sign a new deal.
A host of clubs are understood to be watching the England youth international, who is the son of Sunderland boss Gus Poyet.
Now Spanish giants Barcelona are reported to be keen on Poyet, who is out of contract at the end of the season.
Riga, though, is hopeful that Charlton can persuade him to sign a new deal.
"The contract is our business. We have our eyes very open on this," said Riga.
"I'm sure the environment and family of Charlton will always make sure he receives good advice.
"He feels good here and with the way we are trying to play. He's happy."
Gus Poyet admits he would love to see his son plying his trade at the Camp Nou, and is quoted as telling The Sun "It would be a spectacle to see my son Diego at Barcelona."
Poyet, who has come through the youth ranks at The Valley, made his first-team earlier this year and is now a fixture in their first-team.
