Barcelona safely finished off Osasuna to advance to a quarter-final meeting with Real Madrid, while Athletic Bilbao hammered Albacete.

Barcelona took a 4-0 lead into the second leg of their clash with Osasuna and newly-crowned Coach of the Year Pep Guardiola took the opportunity to rest some of his regular starters.

Osasuna grabbed the first goal of the night when Dejan Lekic netted just before half-time, only for Alexis Sanchez to equalise with a header early in the second half.

Sergi Roberto's fine finish in the 72nd minute then clinched a 2-1 victory for Barca and a 6-1 aggregate success.

Barca will now meet fierce rivals Real Madrid, who triumphed in last season's final between the sides.

Albacete had held Athletic Bilbao to a goalless draw in the first leg of their tie but the Primera Liga club made home advantage count in the return match to run out emphatic 4-0 winners.

Markel Susaeta broke the deadlock after 24 minutes but Bilbao had to wait until midway through the second half to add to their lead when Ander Herrera struck.

Gaizka Toquero made it 3-0 with 12 minutes remaining and Mikel San Jose completed the secoring to fire Bilbao into the last eight.
