Promising forward planning to remain at Camp Nou

Isaac Cuenca has rubbished reports suggesting he is edging towards the exits at Barcelona, claiming it is his intention to earn a contract extension. The 20-year-old winger has burst onto the scene at Camp Nou this season, having been handed his senior bow in October 2011. Another product of Barca's famed academy system, the Spain U21 international has already figured in Primera Liga and UEFA Champions League fixtures. His potential has not gone unnoticed outside of Catalunya, and neither has the fact that his current contract is set to expire in the summer. The likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea have already been linked with moves for the promising forward, but Cuenca insists he has no plans to take on a new challenge.

Contract talks

"My deal will end in June but my plan is to remain at Barca," he told COM Radio. "My desire is to sign a new contract and conversations regarding a new deal are very advanced. "For me to be in this team is a dream and now I need to prove to the coach that he was right to have trust in me. "I am very happy with how 2011 went for me, it was incredible and will be impossible to forget."
