Barcelona have confirmed that Spanish winger Jeffren Suarez has left their US pre-season tour to open negotiations with Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon.
The Venezuelan-born Spain Under-21 international has managed just 23 league outings in his time at Barcelona.
The 23-year-old wide-man had been in talks with Bolton, but he shunned a move to England and it appears Sporting have won the race for his signature.
"Jeffren Suarez will leave Barcelona's US tour to travel to Barcelona where he will negotiate his transfer to Sporting CP," read a statement on the Barcelona website.
Jeffren is expected to join Sporting in a €5million deal after the winger grew frustrated at a lack of first-team opportunities.
"He (Jeffren) moved up to the first team and helped us a lot but three years without playing at his age isn't great for him," said Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola.
