AC Milan defender Thiago Silva does not want to leave the club this summer, according to his agent.

Reports in South America had strongly linked the Brazil international with a potential move to Barcelona.

Thiago has also been quoted as sayingthat he has spoken with Pep Guardiola's European champions.

But his agent, Paulo Tonietto, told Gazzetta dello Sport: "Thiago Silva is happy at Milan.

"He only recently signed a new long-term contract. Had he wanted to leave, he would not have extended his contract with Milan until June 2016.

"There's absolutely nothing regarding those rumours, he is very happy with the Rossoneri.

"His only thoughts right now are on the Coppa America and winning the Champions League with AC Milan next season."

The 26-year-old centre-back joined AC Milan from Fluminense in 2009.
