Gerard Pique beamed at Barcelona's dream season after his side secured a historic treble after lifting the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday night.
Barca secured a deserved victory over Manchester United in Rome, winning 2-0 courtesy of goals from Samuel Eto'o and Lionel Messi.
Pique, who left United for Barca last year, was overjoyed with his team's triumph, having already claimed Primera Division and Copa del Rey glory.
The defender told Sky Sports: "It was special because we played really well and we deserved to win.
"Barcelona have always been my club since I was a young lad so that makes it special.
"I am sorry for Manchester United because they are very good friends of mine.
"Since I have arrived here, I knew it was the right decision. I knew they were a great team. It has been a dream season."
Pique also admitted a challenge he made in the opening stages to deny Park Ji-sung proved key.
He said: "That was a great block because if they scored in the first minute it that would have made it difficult to come back."
Pique was seen taking cuttings of the goal-netting after the final whistle. When asked of his actions, he added: "(I did it) to remember this moment."
