Saturday Liga round-up

Ronaldinho scored a stunning goal as Barcelona beat Villarreal.

Barcelona fans enjoyed a fine evening at Camp Nou as Frank Rijkaard's men comfortably disposed of Villarreal.

Rijkaard's options may be stretched to the limit, but he still has a certain Ronaldinho at his disposal and he scored one of the great goals of all time in the 4-0 win.

Villarreal found themselves a goal down on 35 minutes, as Ronaldinho tucked away a penalty after Eidur Gudjohnsen had been felled in the box.

Gudjohnsen made it two on 55 minutes, before Andres Iniesta added a third with a fine volley on 70 minutes.

The best was saved for last, though, as the Brazilian scored a truly exquisite fourth.

Xavi delivered a cross into the box which looked perfect for Ronaldinho to head on target. That would have been far too easy, as he collected the cross on his chest, swivelled away from goal before launching himself into an overhead kick which flew into the top corner.

In the day's only other game, Atletico Madrid came from behind to claim a 1-1 home draw with Real Sociedad.

The struggling visitors led through Garikoitz Uranga's 24th-minute opener, but Atletico struck back with 13 minutes remaining when Ion Ansotegi put through his own net.
