Celta Vigo have expressed an interest in Barcelona B player Joan Verdu.
The 23-year-old midfielder has failed to break into Frank Rijkaard's first-team at Camp Nou, but has caught the eye of Celta scouts whilst playing for the Catalans' reserve team.
It is not clear whether Celta want to take the player on loan or sign him permanently, but the Galicians have made clear their interest.
"We have an interest in the player and, if we are able to, we will try to make the transfer happen," stated Celta director of sport Felix Carnero.
"We will speak with his agent and the club to study the move."
Meanwhile, Celta are close to finalising the permanent signing of Argentine defender Matias Lequi.
The stopper spent last season on loan at the Balaidos from Lazio, but is now set to ink a four-year deal.
