Barcelona coach Frank Rijkaard has confirmed he has no intention of letting Ludovic Giuly leave the club.

Giuly was linked with a departure from Camp Nou during the January transfer window, with former club Monaco and Galatasaray making offers.

Bordeaux, Lyon and Marseille were also rumoured to be keen on signing the playmaker, who has been unable to establish himself as a regular at Barca.

The France international rejected the opportunity to move on and is determined to fight for his place in Rijkaard's team.

Rijkaard is happy for Giuly to stay at the club and he believes the player will have sufficient chances to impress during the rest of the season.

"I have no desire to let him leave," Rijkaard told L'Equipe Magazine.

"There will be a lot of matches to play and he will probably have opportunities to play.

"Now if he shows a willing to leave, because he is not at ease here anymore, it is different.

"But he told me he still has fun, so he will stay.

"I talked to him once, and he came to me another time. I repeated I still trust him."
