Barcelona midfielder Thiago Motta is closing in on a first team comeback.

Motta has not played for the Spanish champions this season due to a leg muscle injury but is back in full training.

The Brazilian missed six months of last season due to a knee injury but is edging nearer to his competitive return.

An appearance against Deportivo La Coruna on October 15 has been mooted, although Barca are reluctant to commit to this date.

A Barca doctor said: "It is still not possible to confirm if the player will be in the right condition to travel to La Coruna for the next match in La Liga."

In addition to Motta, Gabri is also taking steps towards a comeback after being sidelined this season with an ankle complaint.
