Barcelona striker Maxi Lopez has called on his team-mates to respond in the right way to their defeat to Real Madrid.

Real rekindled their title hopes with a 4-2 win over Barca last weekend and it leaves them just six points behind the Catalan giants in La Liga.

Lopez admitted the defeat to Real had shocked them, but knows they must bounce back in style against Getafe this weekend.

"We have to get up again and we will do it," said Lopez.

"We know that we are near to winning La Liga and that we have done a big effort for being where we are.

"We received two very strong shocks. First after being sent out of the Champions League by Chelsea and now after losing the derby but in the same way we beat Athletic Bilbao after Chelsea now we have to do the same with Getafe. This is a similar situation."

Lopez, meanwhile, has declared himself ready to fill the void left by Samuel Eto'o's injury when Getafe travel to Camp Nou this weekend.

"I will keep on working as I have been doing until now," added Lopez

"I am making a very big effort and giving the best from me for having the chance of playing next Sunday.

"I haven't spoken to the coach about the chance of playing but I suppose that it will depend on the tactics that will be used for that match."
